Hi! I’m Kim Valeri Povey
Integrative, natural care for individuals and families navigating complex health needs with a whole-person approach.
Many of the people I work with come to me after living with ongoing or complex health challenges, often alongside conventional care. Often, they are thoughtful, high-functioning adults or families who have tried multiple avenues and still don’t feel well. My work supports restoring balance and regulation across digestion, the nervous system, and the mind–body relationship so the body can respond and heal more effectively.
Over 40 years ago, an encounter with an osteopathic physician introduced me to yoga and changed the trajectory of my life. After surviving multiple debilitating auto accidents, I spent nearly a decade on a profound healing journey that led me to Ayurveda, yoga therapy, and meditation—long before these practices were widely known or accepted.
Through this process, I learned to identify the root causes of imbalance, restore vitality, and understand how profoundly the mind influences healing. Meditation became a gateway to reducing pain, stabilizing my nervous system, and reclaiming a sense of wholeness. What began as personal healing evolved into a lifelong calling.
Since 1990, I have supported individuals and families in cultivating resilience, vitality, and longevity through Ayurveda, yoga therapy, and lifestyle medicine. Today, as an Ayurvedic Doctor-Level trained Advanced Practitioner, I offer traditional herbal preparations, personalized protocols, and integrative care that address physical, emotional, and social dimensions of health—especially vital in our modern, high-stress world.
True healing happens when we address the whole person in body — mind, spirit, and life itself
Family life is central to my work and perspective. My children are grown, and I bring deep experience guiding parents and families through evolving life stages and relationships. My own family spans six generations, offering daily insight into communication across diverse perspectives. I am a Baby Boomer, my husband Jim is Gen X, and together we have five children ranging from Millennials to Gen Z.
Our home is a living laboratory of Ayurveda. Meals are thoughtfully prepared to meet a wide range of needs including vegetarian, vegan, celiac, omnivorous, spice-loving, and spice-sensitive alike. Much credit goes to my husband Jim, whose love of cooking and devotion to Ayurvedic principles has been a tremendous gift to our family.
I founded Veda Vita Family Health and Wellness to bring the depth of Ayurvedic wisdom and yoga therapy into practical, compassionate, and accessible care to support people not just to heal, but to thrive across the lifespan.
